Feed Price Watch

Had heard that wheat (flour grade) had gone up by £90.00 per ton! So I don't think it is just the chicken feed that is going to be going up!

I thought of looking around to find cheaper prices but decided that with petrol prices so high I would use any difference up just driving around <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

This is true, animal feed is zero vat rated. Not that it stops the cost rocketing like everything else!

Please people, put in the make of the pellets you are buying! That way we know which feed is costing what! <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

We bought 20kg layers pellets from Copdock Mill, Ipswich (Copdock Mill brand) £8.95

I'm fairly sure we paid the same price for Marriages layers pellets at Rackhams Mill, Wickham Market.

Don't buy corn very often, the girls and I are trying to cut back on sweets, really. <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Garvo 730 & 731 £9.30

Spiller layers pellets £6.70

Farmgate layer pellets £5.70

Mixed corn £6.50

Wheat £5.80

Needless to say i think i'm going to have to give up on Garvo, they have priced themselves out of my budget, shame because i think it's great.

Wish my layers pellets were nicly priced like yours there GYP. But as i live in middle of no where and fuel costs rising think this is refecting in the feed costs .. shame really . Garvo for me here is very expensive..cheaper to order off internet .

Feed prices seem to be rocketing at the moment, since I placed a bulk order with Farmgate in December, prices have since gone up by another 30p per 20kg bag and are due to go up by another 40-50p per bag on 1 March according to the sales lady there. That's an increase of nearly £1 per bag, prices must level out soon surely?
