Terms of Use of this Forum:

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law. This is not only not humorous, but legal actions can be taken against you. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate to this forum.

You agree that your posts may be edited or deleted if the admins or moderators feel the need to do so. Your account may also be deleted if they feel that you have overtly flouted the rules.

Note that it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts on this forum. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages and are not responsible for their content. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of this forum. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator of this forum immediately. We have the rights to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this forum, and any related websites to this forum. We at this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any information posted by you.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another member, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another member's account to post messages or browse this forum.

After you register and log into this forum, you can fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browsers cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or sends any other form of information to your computer.

General Forum Rules

1: Moderation: The members in this forum that act as moderators are both helpful and knowledgeable, particularly in the areas that they look after. Minding a large and busy forum such as this takes a lot of time, effort and sometimes patience on their part. The moderators do this job because they enjoy it and without reward, so please do not argue with the moderators, their decision is generally final. Open criticism of a moderator will not be tolerated, however you can always take your discussion off-line via the PM facility should you wish to follow your point up.

2: Discussion: Is what a forum such as this is all about, as well an an exchange of information, guidance, expert opinion and input. However, from time to time, people can and will disagree - please respect that this is the natural way of things. Don't be offensive or rude if you disagree or are disagreed with. Explain your problem and be prepared to offer your own explanation, just stating that someone is wrong or you do not agree is not the art of public debate. Occasionally some people try to use forums as a platform for attack, either generally or personally, should a moderator suspect that this is the case, do not be surprised if your post is locked or even removed. Posts of this kind will not be tolerated.

3: Language: As a member, you are always welcome to participate in the discussions in all the open forum areas. However, you are respectfully reminded that this is a 'public' place and therefore no swearing or profane language will be tolerated. Illuminated language does not add value to any post, if you feel you have to resort to it, then stop, take a deep breath then go away to think it over before responding! Do not try to be clever by using abbreviations or substituting letters as this will bring the moderators down on you even more. Continued breach of this rule will result in your account being either restricted or suspended.

4: Text Speak: Ah, text speak, the joy of modern communications, not! If you like using text speak you will probably never understand why those that don't, don't! Text speak originated to allow people to put more content into size limited communications, typically mobile phone text message - but it didn't originate there! Text speak in an environment such as this forum is not necessary or welcome as the majority of people actually do not like it at all. This is a plain English environment, so please use extreme discretion if you are tempted to use text speak of any kind. Two of the most widely known forum abbreviations are acceptable, that is 'LOL' and 'IMHO' and do not normally detract from the post content as they just both happen to be 'emotions' but please use plain, full, English at all other times.

Note, if you don't know what these two mean then you shouldn't be using them anyway!

5.a: Personal Details: As a member of this forum, if you wish to have the benefit of free speech, then in return you must also provide your REAL full name in your profile. Anonymity is not provided or acceptable here, so be warned! Those that wish to disguise who they are normally have other reasons for this and you will be quickly brought to book if you continue to post and not display your real identity. Your personal details include your email address, which you are free to hide if you prefer. However I repeat, your real-name should always be visible, at all times in your profile.

Existing board members should note that this rule may require you to make minor changes to your personal profiles.

5.b: Only PoultryChat Supporters are able to create a personal signature line or use an avatar, however this is limited to: one line only, in standard size font plain black text, without any text highlighting or effects with no images or weblinks. However, URL's may be present for bone fide clubs only. This signature or avatar must NOT be used for any form of advertising.

6: User-names: Some people like to use personal nicknames or handles, and we do not prevent you from doing this, as long as your real-name is still available to all! We do however, suggest that your user-name is not a word puzzle or a play on meanings and definitely not offensive in meaning or content - please.

Some names that could be similar or mistaken for recognised trade names will be removed unless the user IS the official representative of that company/name and you have prior permission from PoultryChat. Your username must not suggest a website url in any way. Please make sure your username is NOT more than 15 characters long.

7: Advertising: This can be a particularly problematic one and does rely on the sensibility of the posters and the stance taken by the local moderator. That said, this forum is provided, at great expense, free of charge to you all and the owner does not have to provide free advertising as well! The general rule is that while the inclusion of the name of a poultry related company is acceptable, be it a shop, dealer, distributor or breeder, the name is all that will be allowed. This will only be tolerated where it is a genuine attempt to assist or guide someone. You should refrain from supplying any contact info, address, or web site info, you can of course send this information if you feel inclined to, by the PM system - do not post it in the public forums! - Any post containing blatant and/or repeated advertising or just trying to be 'smart' will result in that post being 'corrected' accordingly, as will any person who appears to be repeatedly posting company names.

Additionally these forums MUST NOT be used for commercial market research without prior permission.

8: Cross Posting: This is not allowed - you may only start a topic on one board. Multiple posts will be deleted, the one in the most relevant section will remain.

9: Defamatory comments: This forum exists for the purpose of helping you to enjoy the sport, exchange information and get help and advice where possible. What it is NOT here for is to allow anyone to make defamatory comments about this board, the people that provide it, or to bad mouth members or companies that support the board and the sport.

10.  The posting of any material from the Private Message System on this forum or contents of an e-mail on this forum is not permitted, the PM system and e-mail system is a private matter between the 2 parties concerned, if you have an issues in this area please do not post on the board but alert administration.

11.  We do not accept members under the age of 16 due to adult content in certain areas of the forum.

12. Images/pictures may ONLY be placed on this forum via the attachment facility. NO inline images and NO links to image hosting websites.

13. Links may only be posted by PoultryChat Supporters - NO exceptions.

14. We do not allow links to 'social networking' sites.

15. NO links to - or canvassing for - the signing of online petitions. If you think there is a VERY good reason why we might make an exception please send Scotsfran or Zenith a PM.

By registering as a member of this forum you also agree to abide by the rules.
