Just waiting on the chap who fits them to contact us now. Then the alterations can begin to the fireplace messy job I know but hopefully it will look good again once we decorate.

Looks very nice Zenith.

Stove fans  ? for K9, I see so many 2 blade, 3 blade, 4 blade. and find it a bit confusing on which would work best. Do they run silent ? Found some on ebay  but the same thing elsewhere seems double the price in some case.

I'm also thinking of getting a stove fan...they're meant to be very effective.

We have a 2 blade and a 4 blade, not sure which is best to be honest as they both sit on the kitchen one. They are silent in running, although our 2blade now has an annoying clickety clack which we need to investigate. Not sure if it needs oiling or tweaking somehow. We have had it a number of years so it could be that the bearings have worn out.
I got both from Amazon taking note of the reviews.
If your lounge is small then you dont really need one, although you could leave the door open and let the heat out to other parts of the house.
Our kitchen is open to the stairs so we have the fans to push the heat upstairs. When the lounge one is fitted we will use a fan as its a long lounge.
Dont forget a nice pair of firegloves, i got some suede ones from Amazon quite cheaply. The handles on the stove do get rather hot and its much easier to load with gloves on.

Thank you K9 . I may leave the fan and see how the fire performs first before ordering one. Gloves just ordered via Amazon  Smile

The new stove and all the stuff for the fireplace arrived this morning, our dinning room looks like a builders yard now. All ready for Mondays start date, just dust covers to go everywhere over the weekend. Very pleased with the company we have used so far, I just hope I'm happy with the end result .

Really pleased with the company we used, I can't praise the guys that opened up the fireplace & fitted the  new stove enough. We have test run the fire today with doors and windows open to get rid of the newness smell. I must say it kicks out some heat the room is very warm even with doors and windows open. Smile One of our grandsons decorated both rooms for us too and made a good job of it all. K9 not shown in the photo but the stove fan works well too.  Smile

A good job well done indeed Zenith.  I am always amazed at the amount of heat given out.  This is the same size as ours and even in the depths of winter, the room soon warms up

I was surprised how easy it was to get going and the heat from it too. This will easy warm the lounge, dinning room and probably the conservatory too. They did say we will notice a big difference as the open fire loses 70% of the heat up the chimney. I'll look forward to the winter nights now, with this in the house.  Smile
