Is it that your OH or neighbours could be playing a joke with you? as in my eyes the two green eggs you show, look to me like they were layed by different hens, as they look a very different shape and different colour to me? Just a thought......

Definatly nobody playing a joke. The eggs do look different in texture, colour and size so I am thinking it has to be the RIR or the brahma because these 2 are the only new egg layers I have. My thoughts would be the RIR as I am getting a green egg most days and braahmas don't lay most days. The size and shape indicates the brahma though

puzzled here.

The garden has a 6ft fence around with locked gates, OH couldn't care less about the chickens and wouldn't know if a chicken lays blue, green brown or white.

100% sure its one of the girls below

I'm pretty sure you can rule out the girls in picture 2, so the best way to find out is try to be around when they lay, usually in the morning and often following a short spell of looking around for egg laying sites, nesting behaviour in general, and sometimes the egg laying song. Good luck.

The colour of the hen's legs in picture 2 is interesting, same as my Heritage Skyline who is a blue egg layer.

i reckon its the brahma x. She has got somthing in her, possible araucana or ccl somewhere. The reason i say this is due to the tail size, shape and position and the headgear. This can be seen in her first picture (headgear) and the last pic (tail).

it would explain the small eggs which brahmas lay, the green/mottel so the brown x blue egg gene and the possible physical characteristics.
