preparing to cull the boys - part deux
#1
I am SOOOOOOO happy! <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='*cheer*' />

As some of you may know, I was preparing to despatch my 2 boys this evening after dark, (well hubby was!) but he's found a new home this afternoon with one of his work colleagues who's dad has an allotment!

I've been in such a state all day, so hubby decided to give it one last try to re-home them, and he was successful! <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

He's just got back from the allotment and said it's a great set up with plenty of room and no other boys, so I will sleep much happier tonight.

I appreciate all your kind words of support, and I can assure you that I will not be having any more boys in the future!

Really glad it has worked out well for you and the cockerals. I too hate culling them but I feel it is better for the bird than putting them into a crate, driving them to the vet to be PTS. That must be sooo stressful for the poor bird.
Today is the First Day of the rest of our lives.

If they can be taught to hate, they can be taught to love.
