Bizzarre eggy poop thing????
#1
Hello,

I've just checked my chickens and found the most odd looking egg/poop thing. I've tried to upload a pic but I'm having trouble, it looks like a ppop, but its definitely made of eggshell. It's about an inch and a half long, bulbous at one end with a little piggy tail curly bit on the other end. What on earth is it, and how has it happened?

I will persevere with the photo to show you - I'm perplexed! <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='blink' />

It looks like an egg blip to me, sometimes there is just a blip in the system and I guess it is just kinda the opposite of a soft shelled egg. An odd shaped one if you like. If it is not a regular appearance then I would not worry too much. Keep an eye, if all your hens seem themselves I would not worry too much. It is amazing though I agree.

Thanks mel, as long as it's nothing nasty!

I'm not getting many eggs at all from the girls at the mo, and I'm not 100% sure who left that little treasure either! I really hope they all start laying soon, I can't take all the snide comments from OH!!! Even tried limestone flour dusted mealworms, but not making much difference. I had 2 from the 5 girls today, that's a good day!

Okay, I did it................ just egg white stuff! It was heavy for it's size, I expected solid shell, but it was albumen and a little black dot with a stringy bit coming off it.

Very odd!
