orphan canada goose
#1
Hi folks.

After some advice please.

There's an orphaned goose around the pond at work whose parents and sibling haven't been seen since last week. He's all by himself and being picked on by the moorhens. The lads in work apparently have been feeding him bread and cornflakes all this week. I'm concerned for him and am wondering on the best course of action to take!

Should I take him to safety?

There are foxes around and I fear he won't last...

Thanks

I don't know the correct hting to do but I wouldn't be able to risk him getting eaten.  I guess there will be sanctuarys around the area or maybe try RSPB? I am a member so if you don't get any joy, let me know and I will contact them for you.

I can't find a nearby sanctuary (well, only a hedgehog one) so I've e-mailed the RSPB.

Thanks

The local vets sometimes know of places which will take birds in........

It never worries me when I get a little lost, all I do is change where I'm going

.Good idea Teazel. Our local vet took an exhausted Little Ork which landed in our little garden pond after a storm. They sent him to a sanctuary to rest and feed. Hope someone can help you save the little gosling.
