Duck laying soft-shelled eggs every evening!
#1
Queenie, my Aylesbury, has laid an egg in the evening for the last few days. She doesn't seem to have a lot of warning about it, in fact she laid it in the feed tray last night! They're obviously eggs that are meant to be laid next morning, they're soft and haven't got the last layer of shell on them - luckily I'm usually around at that time (doing the evening head count)and picked them up before they got trodden on. I don't think it's lack of anything in their food, they have access to grit and all the other duck eggs are fine. Any ideas? She takes mealworms out of my hand, so I could dip them in limestone flour if that would help. Any advice welcome <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
