How much space do quail need? Worzel says positively NO MORE BIRDS!!! But..............if they don't need much space I might try pursuading him <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rolleyes:' />

Very little room needed, rabbit hutch will fit 5/6 jap coturnix quail. The fancier breeds need more space.

my hubby buiilt me a box for the baby ducks to go in last year but since then it has housed , ducks , chicks and turkey poults till big enough to go out into their own sheds its rougly , 4ft long by 2ft wide and 2ft tall and it has a section for them to go kip in , it is now a home for the quail (hubby dont know it yet but he got to build me 2 more ) <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> i think i got a picture here some where

coturnix do not need as much space as the fancier ones. They are quite happy in secure rabbit hutches like GFM said. They will even use the ramps so a double level hutch is fine - (twice as much space in double level <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> ) My fancy ones are in aviarys as they like to fly.
