I've just done something for the first time in 3 years!

Now that my girls have all been rehomed to the lovely Marie, I've had to buy free range eggs for the first time in 3 years! [Image: sad.gif] It felt so strange to have to buy them. Having had bantams, the medium eggs I've bought look huge!!

They won't of course taste the same either.

I'm having to buy eggs despite having 4 laying hens <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/angry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . Unfortunately with all the meds I'm giving them it'll be a good few weeks before I can eat their eggs - by which time (knowing my lot) they'll all go broody and stop laying!

I've been buying free range eggs in Aldi - 85p for 6 medium and 99p for 6 large. I cannot believe how cheaply they are selling free range eggs!

Those are great prices Lass. I've just bought 6 for £1.00 from my local Co-op but we do pay inflated prices up here as the nearest large supermarket is 11 miles away! As you say though, still quite cheap as I used to sell my bantam eggs for £1.50 per half dozen to my OH's workmates.

Yes, was very much wondering what on earth you had done, then I noticed it was in the egg bit!

Shame you're not closer, I am getting 6 eggs a day from my 8! Could easily donate them to you.

we are not getting as many eggs as we used to. Pesky birds are either in moult or the birds which hatched out in may are not laying yet <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/angry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Hopefully they will be all laying before november so we can have a steady supply all winter <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

I did also wonder what you had done for the first time in 3 years <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

She came from St Boswells to pick up some free apples! Man, the petrol alone must have cost her £10, she would have been cheaper buying them from Tesco in Gala!
