A sudden stop
#1
Hi all - my Daisy-May (the one that was supposed to be a CCL but verdict from here was that she is a cross) Has prett much laid every day (small cream egg ) since she started in June. Since the middle of last week she hasn't laid a single egg. Whilst egg production is clearly on the downside, which I would expect at this time of year, I wasn't expecting such an abrupt halt! Is this normal?

Perfectly normal there just adjusting to the shorter days and change in weather, mine all stopped this week too.

One of my hens went on a mad one and laid 2 eggs during the day and continued to lay a rubbish barely formed mess when she went to bed the same day and left some kind of egg-remnant in the coop in the morning....ye to lay again, lol..

I'm glad I'm not the only one, was getting a bit worried about one of mine as she laid a soft shelled egg last week and passed the shell the day after. No eggs since, so was getting a bit worried even though she's looking good and healthy, so my mind is at ease now! Phew!
