Perfectl normal, no hen lays every day of the year. Come winter it will be even less i'm afraid.

They are all different; my best layer will lay every day for 2 or 3 weeks before she has a day off whereas Mabel who has the lowest-output of my girls only lays for 3 days before she has a day off.

Just to confuse me, on her days off Mabel will often go and sit in the nesting box for an hour or two to keep whoever is in the other nesting box company - I thinks she likes it because it's comfy!

Just like P&F, I regularly see two or three of my bantams sitting in adjacent nest boxes, then when they all go off to play again there's only one egg there! I think they keep each other company, and keep me guessing in the process! <img src='http://poultrychat.com/oldforumIcons/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
